Actually my company's headquarters is in US but it has a branch in Canada. But, the company does not know about my PR Card. If they know they can force me to come to Canada !

I am waiting for my EAD receipt and also my I-140 is not cleared yet.
I have to travel india immediately on an emergency and my attorney says that I can very much travel to India on my H1-B visa.
I was quiet surprised to hear that from my attorney as I was under the impression that it is not safe to travel outside US until my EAD is approved.
Please suggest..

I have a unique situation, my laywer sent I-485,EAD and AP together in July. I got the receipt for I-485 but still awaiting for the reciepts for EAD and AP. Please advise what could be done in this situation, its already been almost 5 months ?

I have a similar timeline - applied for LC in February 2002, got approval in December 2003, filed I-140 in February 2004, I-485 in March 2004. Currently filing for my fifth EAD! The USCIS not only tortures the whole family (it's a common practice that name check is pending only for primary applicant) but makes us to pay for the wait! My son was born around the time we filed for adjustment of status, he will go to school soon but we are still not sure whether we will be allowed to stay. We cannot plan ahead and open education funds for our children. My wife cannot go to college, as she is not eligible for in-state tuition discount. Needless to say, I am forced to sacrifice my career as the whole thing is dragging for 5+ years and I have to work at the same position to keep GC process alive. I've got MCSD certificate and outgrew my position long ago. I cannot quit my job and found a new business.

Hello,
My Present H1B stamp is with company A and expires November 20 2007. Now I'm with company B and with this I have my petetion (H1B approval) which expires June 20 2008. Now I'm travelling to India for my marriage and coming back September 8. I'm not getting the new stamp this time. Will I have any problem during the immigration ??
Also with my present papers, my wife would be attending her visa Interview on Sep 4. Will there be any problem for her at the interview ???

Two yrs back my friend for a B1 visa thru his company and got the visa from the consulate for 10yrs. He never came to the US and left the sponsoring company and moved to Australia, the question is , Can he enter the US using his existing visa for tourism purpose ? or does he have to apply for a new one ?

what i mean is i am currently working full time with Company A. But I am thinking of making additional income by working for another company on part time basis. Can I file another concurrent H1? And if this concurrent H1 will be based on annual H1 quota?

Check with attorney if they have they filled other EB2 petitions in this fashion and got approval? I dont think you can do much if both attorney and HR want to process perm in a certain way

Form AR-11 asks for the date my stay in the United States will expire. What date should I use? Currently, I am on working on EAD (I-485 pending) and last entered US on AP.
Note: Sorry for a duplicate thread. I posted my previous one in I-140 section. :confused:
IMO you should put the EAD expiry date. ( The fact is stay will never expire since it is a AOS pending).

2) When does the 180 day period for AC21 begin? The day I sent my 140/485 packet or the receipt date (behind the cashed check) of my 140/485 application?
3) Now that I have my EAD, do I need to do anything at this point? I already have a SSN. Does the SSN change after getting EAD? Do I need to apply for I-9 or something?
4) Have people been successful with AC21? What if I want to move on to another role (different in responsibilities from my current role)? Can I still use AC21?
PS: My company lawyers are very unfriendly and rude. So thanks for your help in advance.

I have changed jobs using EAD after 1.5 years of filing I-485. Can I file for a new Eb-2 case with my new employer and port the priority date of my EB-3 case ? Thanks.
Sure you can, as long as your new job requires a Masters or Bachelors + 5 yrs of experience and your employer is willing to start the process, you can do it. Being on EAD or H1 doesn't stop you from porting your PD.
