The fact is, we've been through this before. The iPhone 1 was going to be a huge failure because it didn't have 3G. They were concerned about coverage and battery life. It's the same issue now.
People are saying apple should make those sacrifices now to keep up with technology. But nobody is addressing the fact that apple has historical evidence that this is a sound approach.
So many people just love to see every issue from the Apple perspective. There are people who get paid for that. Should not you - as a consumer - care more about the gadget you want than Apple success?
Using two separate chips eats battery life. Not to mention LTE is still "just" coming out, so it won't be widespread enough to take advantage of it until 2012 anyway.
Apple does not have to use two chips. They could just design separate phone for Verizon (just like iPhone 4) which does not support GSM. Not ideal but that's where technology is today. At least Verizon customers could enjoy iPhone 5 with LTE.
Im a shareholder. Similar to many others here that you mindlessly dismiss

I don't believe this. Why would Apple waste money on a carrier that has just been bought?
The best asset that T-Mobile USA has is its network.
AT&T will no doubt want to use that eventually - it's probably the main reason that they're buying it.
T-Mobile's 3G coverage is solely on the AWS band.
A future iPhone that could use all of the bands that AT&T/T-Mobile USA owns would provide a real boost for AT&T. It would expand their network coverage with minimal cost and no hassle of waiting for planning rules etc.

Will it be a cinema display with receiver?
Id love to see a new standard for "HD". 1440p would be nice...but current media would have to catch up. That said, I dont think Apple could make a cost effective television. Sorry, but theyd sell a 42inch TV for 2000.000 easy.

Well they won't be charging me.
I'm sure Apple will be heartbroken that you won't be gobbling resources without paying.
If it's worth anything, it's worth $20/year.

I'd be surprised if this comes true. T-Mobile's network is not exactly up to par with AT&T and Verizon.
Yeah, T-Mobile needs to work harder if they want their network to drop calls as much as AT&T.

reassuring to me even if it only means I will be able to buy computers that run a Mac OS for the next 15+ years.
My thoughts exactly.
I wouldn't care if their share is 1%. Just as long as they remain a sound business and keep up the R&D.

Good timing :)
Since my MBP arrived, I've been toying with the idea of moving the Mac Mini downstairs and hooking it up to the TV. Already bought myself a copy of Remote Buddy and a Keyspan Remote control. A bluetooth Mighty Mouse would match up nicely.
I already have a Logitech bluetooth mouse, but it requires a charging station. I'd rather keep the number of cables, docks and misc. paraphernalia down to a minimum in the living room. A basic AA-driven mouse would be great.

Jesus christ the world will end.
May 21, 2011. I'm sad since I'm only going to be able to enjoy my refreshed iMac for just a couple of weeks.:(
Those with the new white iPhone will get priority admission into heaven though!
Pearly white iPhone=admission into the pearly gates.

Being a non-jetsetting 3gs user, this isn't really worth it for me. Maybe I'll get it sometime, but no rush here. :-p
But seeing that it "Contains the latest security updates"...
It would really be nice if small patches and updates like that were distributed through the iOS app store.
OTA updates would be a GOOD thing.
(Especially since Apple store employees are known for insisting iPhone users and iPad users don't necessarily NEED a computer. :-/ )

As a frequent user of Pages 2, I would like more toolbars and less of the 'inspector' stuff, which to me is not as convenient.
Really? I love the whole Inspector idea and the side toolbar in Word type thing.

the iPhone doesn't compete against Android. The iPhone competes against all of the handsets running Android. And it's killing them. The 3GS as the second best-selling handset? That's frankly embarrassing for Android.
So tell me, in what world is having:
1 - the most popular handset
2 - the 2nd most popular handset
3 - the most popular mobile OS
4 - the most popular tablet
getting "badly beaten"?
Only in that parallel universe occupied by Full of, and others of its ilk.

The OP statement was that the 360 was the only HD player on the market right now. Which clearly isn't true. Upscaling isn't HD in my book. But that is me.
I think the OP was talking about game play in HD. I've tried the component HD cable for my PS2 on my plasma HDTV and it's nicer, but it's only 480p at best, depending on the title. I use an upscaling DVD player that outputs to 1080i and though it is HD, it still doesn't have the image data of a true HD title. The only time I've been able to see REAL HD is through my DishTV HD programming--again, depending on the source--or connecting a Mac to the plasma and viewing Apple's HD trailers. You're right though, the HD content still isn't readily available.
Read a rumor about MS dropping the price of the 360 by $100 for the holidays to help combat the release of the PS3. That would put it almost half the price of the PS3!

It appears only on apps which are in your library......
Perhaps there will be some type of targeted advertising to go along with the rumored free MobileMe? Devices will now be tied to that possibly?
Originally .Mac was MobileMe's domain.

False! It speaks volumes about how consumers react to the most innovative original and popular smartphone in history being only $50 with a contract.
You proved my point.

Yes. It's a great machine and very capable. I don't experience any overheating issues or such. However, at night, when I'm asleep, I run it on a cooling pad in the kitchen for those "just-in-case" moments. However, during the day, I just run it without the cooling pad since it's pretty loud.
My first thought was; the AIR is loud?? but then I realized you meant the cool pad

Does Apple's website specs show this?
EDIT. Nope. Still 9.3 mm thin
Apple "overlooked" the fact that there is a slight difference due to the improved antenna.
Oops, that wasn't supposed to be mentioned.
Forget you just read that. :)

transphobia That's a new one. It's almost as funny as the visual I got with a dude at the urinal with D cups.
Almost as funny as your daughters face when she discovers that her dad is a brutal bigot who waits outside toilet doors to beat people up (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=12453464&postcount=56).

Let me correct myself... I didn't mean to say occupy, I meant that we have troops in US bases in over 200 countries.
Interesting, considering there are only 194 recognized countries on Earth. Which planet are the other 6 countries located on?

Is there an education discount for the US? I can't seem to find it. At least not yet. It is listed in the Education store but at $69.

I would love to see those prices!........not really tho
They'll buy the panel from Samsung, charge double the price of everything else on the market and the sheep will be lined up for days to buy one. It will be a huge hit and Sony and Samsung will go out of business.
